Middleton Rangers Spitfires U11s VS Greatham U11s

It was a tough one today as we went in hopeful of securing our first league win. The team put in a strong performance and showed just how much progress is being made week by week.

The first half was a real contest, with both sides evenly matched going into the break level. The boys worked hard for each other, moving the ball well and showing some fantastic passages of play that really put the opposition under pressure.

JJ was outstanding in front of goal, bagging two well-earned goals and giving us real momentum. His finishing and determination kept us right in the game.

Throughout the match, there were moments where we gave the opposition a real scare — a great sign of how far this team has come. There’s plenty to be proud of in the performance.

Charlie was awarded Man of the Match for the pressure he applied from the moment he stepped onto the pitch battling strong with his opponent creating some good chances.

There are always lessons to take from games like this, and we’ll continue working hard together in training.

Well done to all the boys. On to the next one ⚽️🖤🧡

Billingham United Hornets u10s vs Middleton Rangers Hurricanes u10s.

Another fantastic performance from our U10s this weekend, full of effort, teamwork and real determination from start to finish.

From the first whistle, the boys showed confidence on the ball and produced some absolutely outstanding passages of play. The passing was a real highlight — sharp, accurate and unselfish — with players linking up brilliantly across the pitch. It was great to see them trusting each other and moving the ball with purpose.

Defensively, we were solid throughout. The back line worked tirelessly, closing down quickly and staying organised under pressure. Communication was strong and the commitment to win the ball back was clear to see.

Our goalkeeper deserves special praise for making some massive saves at crucial moments, keeping the team in the game and showing great bravery and focus.

Going forward, we created some epic opportunities with intelligent runs and positive attacking play. On another day, a couple of those chances easily find the back of the net. The drive and hunger to keep pushing right until the final whistle was brilliant.

Today was just a start to be seen of the progress, teamwork and attitude made by these amazing lads. Their performance is something to be really proud of. And they demonstrated how much they respect one another, their coaches, and officials and do it with kindness and consideration week in and week out despite any score! This group continues to grow every single week — and it’s exciting to watch. Can’t wait for next weeks game!

Well done boys 👏🧡🖤

Middleton Rangers U8’s V
Normanby United U8’s

Middleton started the game slowly with both movement and communication in short supply and conceded quickly.

However, the goal seemed to wake Middleton up and the boys started to pass nicely and created several chances.

Unfortunately, a brief lapse in concentration in the Middleton defence then led to Normanby scoring just before the break.

Middleton changed things up for the second half and started well, pressing higher up the pitch.

Normanby also pressed Middleton but the boys managed to hit on the break in the final moments of the game.

There were a lot of positives to take from the game today with the skills learnt in training starting to show in the game. With both the usual Middleton’s goalkeeper and main striker not there today it was a big well done to everyone!
Special mention to Joseph and Gene who both stepped into the sticks, doing a half each today 👏🏻

The lads played some real quality throughout the game and raced off to an early lead scoring after 3 minutes.
The lads kicked on and went in at the the break 5-0 up.

Hartlepool came out in the second half and applied some pressure but the lads dealt with what they had and continued to play some lovely stuff and which they were rewarded for with 3 more goals.

U11 Spitfires V Marton Royals

Back in cup action today, in the 2nd round, at home to Marton Royals.

Up against a div 4 team, today was always going to be a tough game for our spitfires but they more than held their own and played some great passages of football. The lads had great shape, in and out of possession and their work rate as a team was top class 👏🏻

Some great signs of progression today, lovely to hear more talking and supporting each other. A close game throughout, with only a couple of top class goals been the difference between the two sides.
