15/10/11

Middleton Rangers U13 Girls v California Girls U13

Saturday 15th October

Result 1-2

An entertaining match; evenly balanced with  the defence working well until  they conceded two quick goals just before the end of the first half. Rangers increased the pressure in the second half and pulled one back with a strike from Courtney Knox. They were unlucky not to get a second.

Girl of the match: Niamh Healy

22/10/11

Kader v Middleton Rangers

Result 6-1

An even first half played in windy conditions; Rangers went in to half time 1-0 down and without their first choice goalkeeper who went off injured. Second half, despite making some great saves, Kader scored five more times. In the dying minutes, Georgia Paylor scored a consolation goal for Rangers. Girl of the match was Bella Padurariu.

13/11/11

Middleton Rangers 4
Redcar Athletic 0

A great team performance resulted in a well deserved victory for Rangers. They took an early lead with a goal from Courtney Jones that was crossed, after a tremendous run down the wing by Charlie Glen.

They went into half-time 1-0 up, after some good defensive play which kept Redcar at bay.
The beginning of the second half was evenly balanced , until Courtney Knox scored after 15 minutes. Rangers secured their win with a further goal from Courtney Knox and in the dying minutes of the match a second from Courtney Jones. With many great performances, girl of the match was a difficult selection for the coach, but was deservedly awarded to Courtney Jones.

20/11/11

Middleton Rangers 3
Redcar Athletic Lasses 7

A fast paced first half saw Rangers take an early lead with a goal scored from a goalkeeper rebound by Courtney Jones. A great display from the girls, resulted in an exciting end to end first half which saw Courtney Knox score Rangers second only a minute after Redcar had equalised. Courtney Jones then went on to add a further goal to her tally. Redcar fought back, scoring their second but were denied further goals by some solid defensive work from Rangers. The second half started at a slower pace, with Redcar scoring their third; a powerful strike on 11 minutes. Rangers continued to battle but lost their first half advantage when Redcar scored a fourth. Tired legs in the last five minutes meant Redcar put away a further three goals. A flattering scoreline which doesn't truly reflect an evenly contended match.

Girl of the Match: Georgia Paylor

27/11/11

Middleton Rangers 1 Skelton 15

This was a game that was affected by a gusting wind and some team changes for Rangers.
Skelton used the weather to their advantage going into half-time 9-0 up.
Battling hard Rangers got a well deserved consolation through Courtney Knox.
Girl of he Match Niamh Gibbon.

03/12/11

Middleton Rangers 1 - 6 Skelton

The cup match started promising with both teams creating chances. Two early saves from Chloe Hamer, kept Rangers in the game, and they were unlucky not to take a lead after Georgia Paylor hit the post from a free kick. Skelton scored two goals before half time; one of which was headed in from a corner kick.

In the second half, Rangers got off to a lively start, earning a dubious penalty after 3 minutes, however failed to score. Three further goals followed for Skelton, before Georgia Paylor put the ball away for Rangers after a second penalty was given on 20 minutes. A sixth goal was conceded in the last few minutes.

Girl of the Match: Georgia Beckwith
