Bishop Auckland Kings
Rangers
were quick out of the blocks and played some
great football, dominating the first half
with Man of the Match AL Stevens controlling
the the midfield. Rangers were unlucky not
to score from several first half
opportunities, denied by some last ditch
defending by Bishop.
Rangers
finally got the goal their play deserved
just before half time with another Drew
Charlton special, taking a direct shot from
a corner & curling it in high above the
keeper, to add to the ones he scored the
same way last season.
Bishop came in to the game more in the 2nd
half creating several attacking
opportunities, but solid defending from
Nathan Warwick & Drew Charlton supported by
the hard working midfield kept Bishop from
having any attempts on target at Will
Spencer's goal. Ranger had a few more good
efforts at goal, but the scored remained 1-0
to Rangers at the final whistle. An
excellent start for Rangers with a win & a
great team performance for this opening game
of the season.

Rangers U10s V's St Francis A
U10s
Rangers had all the
early possession &
chances with Ellis Weir
beating his marker and
opening the scoring with
a powerful low shot that
gave the keeper no
chance, his goal was
well deserved for his
great first half
performance. Ranger's
earned a penalty not
long after which was
coolly slotted home by
AL Stevens. At 2-0 down
St. Francis started to
come in to the game a
little and although well
marshalled by the
Rangers defenders Nathan
Warwick & Drew Charlton
they created a couple of
first half chances that
were well dealt with by
Rangers keeper Will
Spencer.
Rangers midfield Aaron
Reed, AL Stevens & Man
of the Match Toby
Richardson took control
of the game again in the
2nd half creating
numerous chances with
Callum Spence making the
pressure count by
scoring the 3rd for
Rangers. With the game
in the bag Rangers
pressed forward looking
for more goals & nearly
got caught out a couple
of times on one occasion
Will Spencer making a
spectacular diving save
to keep a clean sheet.
The game finished 3-0
and another impressive
display from Rangers
with 2 clean sheets out
of 2 this season.

Middleton Ranger u10's at Greatham FC "B" League Game
The game was quite tight for the first 5 to 10 minutes with little in the way of clear cut chances being created for either team until Ranger hard work pressurising Greatham on the ball paid off with AL Stevens dispossessing the Greatham centre back on the edge of their box & prodding a pass to Ellis Weir who applied his usual cool finish to make it 1-0 to Rangers.
Rangers gradually took more & more control of the game creating several chances with Toby Richardson slotting home after dribbling in from the left wing to make it 2-0 before half time.
Ranger dominated the second half producing a further string of chances the 3rd goal coming from great work from Toby Richardson on the left finding Callum Spence in front of goal who made no mistake. A minute later Rangers were 4 up when Aaron Reed dribbled into the box and fired low across the keeper into the far corner of the net.
Ranger defence of Nathan Warwick & Drew Charlton comfortably handled everything Greatham could muster up to this point with Greatham's first decent attempt at goal producing a fine save from Will Spencer in Rangers goal.
Rangers continued to apply pressure & create chances right to the end with a several corners in quick succession 3 of which were cleared by Greatham straight to Nathan Warwick just outside the box who fired shots back in on goal, on the third occasion beating the keeper to make it 5-0 to Rangers. A deserved goal for Nathan who played a faultless game at the back, Man of the Match however was in the end shared by 2 of Rangers outstanding midfield Toby Richardson & AL Stevens.
A perfect start to the season so far with 3 wins, 3 clean sheets & 9 goals scored.

Middleton Ranger u10's V Spraire Lads - League Cup 3rd Round Game
The first half was fairly even with a few half chances for each side and a couple of good efforts for Rangers including a cracking long range shot from Toby Richardson that went just over, no breakthrough could be achieved & it was 0-0 at half time.
Rangers were dominant in the 2nd half creating several good chances & a string of corners before Drew Charlton thumped home a half cleared corner from the edge of the box to break the deadlock & make it 1-0 to Rangers.
Soon after Ellis Weir made it 2-0 showing real strength & determination to force his way past two defenders to get his head to the ball first & force home from close range.
Rangers were now in full flow playing some excellent football and in the next few minutes increased their lead to 4-0 with goals from Callum Spence skipping past the defence to slot home & Ellis Weir notching his 2nd again showing great determination & skill to break past his marker & stab the ball home.
This is now 4 wins out of 4 for Rangers this season without conceding a goal and some great performances up front with Ellis Weir scoring 4 in the last 3 games & Callum Spence scoring an impressive 3 in the last 3 each time coming on as a 2nd half sub.

09/10/11
Middleton Ranger u10's V Norton & Stockton Ancients 'B' - League game
The game started in scrappy manner on a heavy pitch & with a strong wind blowing. Ranger struggled to get going with most of the early chances going to Ancients, testing Will Spencer in Rangers goal on several occasions, having to producing a couple of great saves.
Rangers excellent defensive pairing of Nathan Warwick & Drew Charlton, who had not conceded a goal all season, were broken up when Drew was forced off with a knee injury after 10 minutes leading to a team reshuffle. Whilst Rangers were still trying to settle with the changed team Ancients capitalised with an brilliant shot from the corner of the box that flew right into the far top corner of the net, giving Ancients a deserved lead not long before the whistle was blown for half time.
Rangers came out a different team in the 2nd half, determined to continue this seasons 100% record, creating chance after chance and quickly equalising from a long range Callum Spence shot that was to much for the Ancients keeper to handle.
Rangers Ellis Weir fired in a great low shot that was turned just around the post and soon after with Rangers pushing for a 2nd, Ancients broke clean through on goal, but Rangers keeper Will Spencer smartly rushed out getting an arm to the shot from point blank range to keep the game at 1-1. Rangers continued applying pressure Ellis Weir hitting the post, Toby Richardson & Callum Spence firing in several efforts that seemed certain to bring a goal, but desperate defending, blocks, scrambles on the line and a parried shot that seemed to be rolling in, but Ancients keeper just recovered to get a hand on the ball when no more than 2 inches from being a goal.
Rangers finally made their pressure tell when Man of the Match Callum Spence beat his man on the wing & dribbled towards goal from a narrow angle & with everyone expecting a cross including ancients keeper who left a small gap at his near post which Callum coolly found to put Rangers 2-1 up. In a frantic last few minutes Ancients broke forward and a long range shot hit the bar with the ball bouncing down to the feet of another Ancients player who shot immediately towards the empty net for what looked a certain goal, but out of nowhere midfielder Aaron Reed had chased all the way back to slide across goal & block the shot.
Rangers created a couple more chances with Callum coming very close to a hat-trick with a free kick that just when past the post. Rangers kept control up to the final whistle for what was a deserved 2-1 win after an excellent 2nd half performance.
16/10/11Stockton Town Blues V Middleton Rangers
In this top of the table clash between 2 teams who had not dropped a point between them all season proved to be an extremely close affair as you would expect, with 2 well organised teams who both played some great football.
In the first half Stockton had half a dozen shots from range without hitting the target, whilst Rangers tested the Stockton keeper on a few occasions including a long range Aaron Reed throw in to Ellis Weir who controlled & turned his man to stab a shot at goal that was saved, later a cleared corner fell to Drew Charlton whose shot back in at goal that was blocked near the line & somehow cleared in the ensuing scramble. Just before half time Toby Richardson in a yard of space on the edge of the box received a pass from the right wing, smartly controlled & drove a low shot in that keeper got a hand to, but could not keep out, to make it 1-0 to Rangers at the break.
The 2nd half followed a similar pattern with Stockon being kept to long range efforts, but unable to get anything on target as a result of an outstanding display from the Rangers defence of Nathan Warwick & Drew Charlton who shared the Man of the Match.
Rangers created a few more decent chances with Ellis Weir heading just wide from a Callum Spence free kick, Callum Spence & Ellis Weir having low shots pushed around the post by the Stockton keeper.
It was not until the last few minutes that Stockton finally tested Rangers keeper Will Spencer who was at his best to tip a low drive around his right hand post to secure the win for Rangers.
Another great team performance from Rangers and deserved win, creating far more decisive chances against a good footballing team, Rangers Midfield worked tirelessly to help protect the excellent defence and Rangers are now 6 wins out of 6 in league & cup with only 1 goal conceded.
23/10/11
Middleton Rangers V Seaton Carew Tigers
Rangers dominated the fist half, creating lots of opportunities and playing some great football, but could not finish off any of the chances.
In the second half Rangers stepped up a gear and Tigers just could not cope with Rangers centre forward & Man of the Match Ellis Weir whose strength & hard work allowed him to bring the midfield up to support the attacks time & again.
It did not take long for Rangers to break the deadlock with a brilliant dribble past 2 players by Callum Spence whose shot from the edge of the box was tipped on to the bar by the keeper, it bounced down & Ellis Weir reacted quicker than the defence to tap it home. Ellis nearly doubled the lead shortly after with a superb dribble into the box past 3 players only to see his shot tipped round the post.
Rangers debutant James Humphreys scored the goal of the game with a neat turn & placed shot from range just inside the post to make it 2-0. A minute later James grabbed a 2nd after an Ellis Weir shot was beaten away by the keeper to Rangers AL Stevens feet whose shot was blocked James Humphreys raced in & made no mistake to tap home the loose ball to put Rangers 3 up.
Callum Spence then came close on a couple of occasions including a superb dribbling run from near half way beating a couple of Tigers player only to see a good save tip his shot around the post. Ellis Weir nearly grabbed another with a clever backward header that went inches wide. Callum Spence finally got the goal his play had deserved with a really long range shot that clipped a Tigers defender on the way sending the keeper the wrong way to make the final score 4-0.
A well deserved comfortable win for Rangers and with the whole team working really hard for each other throughout preventing Tigers from getting into the game which provided the platform for all the great creative play going forward & gave yet another clean sheet. 7 wins out of 7 so far this season & 6 clean sheets.
30/10/11
Middleton Ranger u10's V Darlington TSC
The game opened with both teams playing some good football and creating a couple of chances each in the first 5 minutes, Rangers hit the bar twice in the opening exchanges the pick of them from Drew Charlton who burst forward from defence to crack a shot from 20 yards out on the right wing & had the keeper beaten, but hit the bar. Drew had now got his eye in & a minute later Ellis Weir pulled a ball back from near the corner flag to the on rushing Drew who drove a great low shot past the keeper from outside the box.
A few minutes later Rangers forward Ellis Weir ran on to a through ball to stab home from close range to make it 2-0. Ellis then created a chance, working hard to win the ball down the left wing & squaring a ball along the edge of the box to Callum Spence who's quick feet took it around his marker only to shoot just over.
Rangers increased the pressure in the 2nd half creating several chances, Ellis Weir looked to have scored, but a TSC defender managed to get a toe to it & turn it wide.
Callum Spence then put Rangers 3-0 up receiving the pass on the edge of the box, he turned neatly & placed his shot to perfection just inside the left hand post.
James Humphreys who had a great game in Rangers midfield and was unlucky not to score a couple himself turned creator beating a couple of defenders down the right wing to send a great cross in over the heads of the TSC defence for AL Stevens to nod home at the back post to make it 4-0.
Callum Spence created himself another couple of chances before the end skipping past defenders with ease & hitting the post with a shot & forcing a save on another occasion. Midfielder Callum earned himself man of the match as much for his attacking creativity & intelligent passing as for his hard work performing his defencive duties and tackling back, robbing the opposition of the ball on numerous occasions.
A deserved win for Rangers and another clean sheet. 8 wins out of 8 so far this season & 7 clean sheets for excellent defence of Nathan Warwick, Drew Charlton & keeper Will Spencer.

06/11/11
Middleton Ranger u10's Match Report 1-0 loss at Bishop Auckland Aces - League Cup Quarter Final
Rangers played away in the quarter final of the cup at Bishop Auckland Aces from the division above in what always promised to be Rangers toughest game of the season so far. Aces took the game to Rangers from the first whistle and keeping most of the play in our half, but Rangers had the first good opportunity from a corner that Ellis Weir headed past the keeper only for it to clip the underside of the bar and bounce down to be snatched by Aces keeper inches from crossing the line.
Aces were now playing some great football & started breaking repeatedly down the flanks drawing Rangers centre backs wide whilst Aces midfield raced into the box to get a man extra in front of goal, creating a string of outstanding chances, whilst Rangers restricted to a few half chances. Aces were only kept out by last ditch defending by Drew Charlton & Nathan Warwick and some brilliant goalkeeping from Will Spencer who in a ten minute spell made half a dozen excellent saves including twice diving bravely into forwards feet to snatch the ball and a spectacular diving save to tip a shot around the post that seemed destined for the corner of the net.
Just before half time an Aces free kick on the corner of the box was driven in low and stabbed home from 2 yards out to finally beat Will Spencer for only the 2nd time all season.
The 2nd half saw Rangers really come into it with Aces barely troubling Rangers goal due to the hard work of the midfield chasing back and along with the defence showing real grit & battle to prevent any of the control Aces showed in the first half. Rangers were now also playing the better football & forced several chances against a well organised defence and half a dozen corners that were beaten away. Needing a goal defenders Drew & Nathan took turns charging out of defence with the ball to create attacks and chasing back as the last few frantic minutes went by, but Rangers were unable to get the goal back that their valiant 2nd half performance deserved and the game finished 1-0 to Aces.
An excellent 2nd half performance by the whole team against the best opponents we have played this season and joint Man of the Match performances from Nathan Warwick and goalkeeper Will Spencer.
13/11/11
Middleton Ranger u10's 4-0 win away at Darlington Spraire Lads- League game
Rangers made all the early chances without managing to hit the target from several good chances, Spaire managed the first on target with a free kick that was flicked on towards the top corner of the goal from 2 yards out that Will Spencer in Rangers goal showed superb reactions to turn it around the post.
Ranger continued to dominate chances & started to show some great passing without scoring, but almost as half time was reached Callum Spence showed some real class after chasing back to rob the Spaire forward of the ball on the edge of Rangers box he dribbled the full length of the pitch using great close control to beat 3 players and then square the ball to Ellis Weir to tuck home from 2 yards and make it 1-0 to Rangers.
Rangers flew out of the blocks in the second half with Aaron Reed cooly tucking home a cross to make it 2-0 in what now became one way traffic for for the next 10 minutes in which Aaron was unlucky not to get another couple & Callum Spence had a shot cleared of the line. Callum then turned provider again beating a player & sliding a pass the through to Ellis Weir to knock in his 2nd for 3-0, Ellis then wrapped up the points and scored again for his Hat Trick.
Callum Spence turned a player on the bye-line, beat another & was only prevented from a deserved goal when his shot hit the bar, as Ranger pressed forward looking for more goals Spraire broke away on a couple of occasions exploiting the space that was left & getting men over, but each time were dealt with by Nathan Warwick & keeper Will Spencer. The game finished 4-0 with man of the match going to defender Drew Charlton for his clean sheet & all action displaying just nudging out Ellis Weir & Callum Spence.
20/11/11
Middleton Ranger u10's 2-0 win home to St Francis A - League game
After a fairly even start to the game with few chances until Rangers defender Nathan Warwick showed real class first having to chase down a St Francis forward who had a yard head-start & picked up a through ball & was running clear on goal only for Nathan to catch up & rob the forward whilst staying on his feet turn his man break a few yards up field into space & play a perfect 30 yard pass with the outside of his foot to Ellis Weir who then showed a great first touch to control the pass & turn his marker breaking into the box to tuck home to make it 1-0 to Rangers.
Whilst the game remained even in the middle Rangers managed to create a series or corners & chances whilst St Francis were kept well away from goal until just before half time when they broke forward, but their shot was cleared off the line by Nathan Warwick. A minute later St Francis broke on a ball over the top only to shoot wide.
Rangers really dominated the chances in the 2nd half & had about 8 corners, but just did not get any breaks with Drew Charlton's shot from a cleared corner getting deflected over, Callum Spence's header being tipped over the bar & the following corner Callum again got to it first, but the shot was well saved. St Francis broke a few times on through balls & balls over the top only for Will Spencer to deal comfortably with the shots or rush off his line to mop up.
More Rangers chances followed with Callum Spence controlling a goal kick on his chest & sliding a pass through to James Humphreys whose shot was just over, followed by a flicked header that was just saved & then cleared off the St Francis line. Rangers finally got the 2nd goal their pressure had deserved direct from another great AL Stevens corner that the defender attempted to clear, but could not keep out. AL's corners had caused the opposition major problems all day & his goal was followed soon after by another great corner, but James Humphreys header went just over. James then had a shot turned around the post.
A good 2-0 win for Rangers, with yet another clean sheet and still only one league goal conceded all season in 8 games.
Middleton Ranger u10's 1-1 draw away at Billingham
Rangers B - League game
Away at Billingham Rangers B on a really windy day
made football difficult to play and Billingham
adapted well early on and created most of the good
early chances hitting the bar with a long range
effort followed by a shot from the edge of the box
that was forced a great diving save from Will
Spencer.
AL Stevens whilst chasing down a ball, slid towards
the corner flag in a desperate attempt to cross
before it went out and was only prevented by the
corner flag itself which came out of the encounter
far worse, snapped in two by AL, who as usual did
not flinch from the challenge, it seems unlikely the
flag will ever play in another match.
Rangers started to get into the game after 10
minutes creating a lot of pressure in the Billingham
box, with several corners & several of Aaron Reed's
long throws, Drew Charlton came closest when he ran
on to a clearance, but his shot went inches wide.
In the 2nd half Middleton dominated the game and
soon took the lead with great play from Callum
Spence who chased down a seemingly lost ball to the
Billingham goal line, kept it in wide on the right,
beat 2 players with some superb control & fired home
to make it 1-0 to Middleton.
A further series of close calls followed with
Middleton keeping constant pressure in the
Billingham box whose keeper pulled off a series of
good saves, the woodwork also saving them along with
some last ditch defending.
Middleton paid the price for not scoring again from
all their chances as with 2 minutes left Billingham
got a break of the ball which rolled towards their
forward who the shot from the edge of the box and
manged to hit a cracker in the top corner to
equalise and see the game out at 1-1.
Man of the Match being shared by Drew Charlton &
Aaron Reed who both worked their socks off.
3-0 win home to Billingham Town - League game
The top of the table clash between the top 2 teams
who were both unbeaten in the league this season
with Billingham Town the leagues leading goal
scorers against Rangers with the best defence was a
great game of football that lived up to
expectations.
The first half was a half of 2 halves as Billingham
flew out of the blocks getting a couple of shots on
goal in the opening minutes that Will Spencer in the
Rangers goal made good saves from both. Ellis Weir
fought back for Rangers turning his marker &
breaking forward, but his shot hit the keeper.
Billingham then piled on more early pressure with a
low drive that Will Spencer turned round the post
followed soon after by an even better shot that was
only kept out by a superb save from Will. Another 4
Billingham shots came in with the couple that were
on target were again well dealt with by Will.
Ranger now began to find their feet & controlled the
period up to half time with several good chances
being created. The first good one came via a cleared
Rangers corner that came out to Drew Charlton 20
yards from goal who drove a superb shot that seemed
certain to hit the top left corner of the goal, but
a Billingham defender on the line did really well to
get a head to it & deflect just over for another
corner which was desperately cleared for another
corner from the other side. This corner was met by
AL Stevens at the near post whose neat header was
tipped around the post by the Billingham keeper.
Rangers then thought they had broken the deadlock
again when Drew broke out of his own half & shot
from 30 yards to score only to have it ruled out by
the referee for an infringement in the build up.
Ellis continued to torment his marker keeping the
pressure at the Billingham end and eventually got
his rewards after superbly beating his marker again,
charging through towards goal & lining up his shot
Ellis was swiped from behind by a Billingham
defender who took him off his feet for a clear
penalty for Rangers. Captain for the day Drew
Charlton stepped up & seemed the calmest person in
the ground during the delay before the ref allowed
him to take it he promptly smashed home an
unstoppable finish to make it 1-0 to Rangers.

Rangers kept up the pressure with more shots,
corners & Aaron Reed speciality long throws that
caused chaos & desperate scrambles to clear the
Billingham box and Billingham just about made it to
half time 1-0 down.
The 2nd half continued with Rangers midfield trio of
Aaron, Toby Richardson & AL Stevens nullifying the
play of their Billingham counterparts through sheer
hard work & determination whilst Ellis Weir up front
chased every lost cause pressuring Billingham
defenders to make mistakes & hurried clearances.
Ranger back 2 Nathan Warwick & Drew Charlton had now
totally got the measure of the leagues leading goal
scorers.
Ellis then made the pressure count beating his
marker again to fire in a shot that was well saved
the ball flying out to Aaron who drove a shot that
the keeper couldn't hold which fell to Ellis to slot
home & give Rangers a 2-0 lead.
More Rangers breaks ensued as Billingham tried to
push forward & could easily have lead to more
Rangers goals, also a series of Aaron Special throws
& accurate Steven's corners were again desperately
cleared from the Billingham goal line. Aaron then
showed great skill on the edge of the box to skip
past his marker & fire in a cracker that the
Billingham keeper could only watch fly in past him &
seal the game at 3-0. Credit to Billigham who never
gave up & continued to fight to the end to try to
get a goal back, but on the few times they managed
to get a little space to shoot whilst being harried
by the tireless work of the Rangers team they could
not get anything special enough on target to beat
Will Spencer who had a stunning game in goal.
Ranger strength in depth showed as the 3 subs Callum
Spence & the twins James & Matthew Humphries came on
to continue the hard work and pressure on Billingham
and comfortably saw the game out for a superb 3-0
win.
No man of the match this week as we had 7 of them,
we are all really proud of how well everyone played
and also how professionally they all conducted
themselves in the face of some provocative
situations and against an excellent footballing team
in Billingham Town.
Well done Rangers you were all Stars today!
4-0 win home against
Greatham FC B - League game
After 5 minutes of midfield battling Ranger class
started to show and chances started to appear, the
first goal coming via a corner that was cleared only
as far as the waiting Drew Charlton to drive a shot
into the packed box that was blocked near the line
and clear wide for Aaron Reed to cross back in to
Ellis Weir to trap turn & shoot in one movement &
score a great opener.
More Rangers pressure & chances followed before
another corner was headed perfectly in to the bottom
corner by Ellis Weir for his 2nd goal. Ellis
continued his outstanding first half performance
linking up with Aaron Reed for a one two to put
Aaron through on goal, but shot just wide.
The 2nd half continued in the same vein with all the
Rangers subs on who kept up the pressure on Greatham
including more corners & Aaron long throws into the
box that caused havoc. Mid way through the 2nd half
Callum Spence picked up a pass on the left wing &
dribbled in along the edge of the box evading
several players & striking a fantastic low shot
right in to the corner to make it 3-0.
Callum continued his runs & came close again after
beating 3 players, but his shot was blocked which
fell to Ellis whose shot went just over. Greatham
finally tested Rangers keeper Will Spencer with
their first corner which was cleared, but fired back
in and was heading for the bottom corner until Will
pulled out a cracking save.
Ellis came close again to his hat trick with a
cheeky back heel that was cleared off the line.
Rangers made it 4-0 with a James Humphreys goal
after taking down a neat cross from Aaron & firing
home. More goals could easily have followed with
notable efforts from a Callum free kick that was
cleared from goal, but only as far as Drew Charlton
whose drive was blocked.
Another good victory for Rangers & another clean
sheet with Rangers midfield working really hard to
protect the defence of Nathan Warwick & Drew
Charlton who handled Greatham comfortably and gave
Will Spencer a quiet game in goal.
2-0 win home
against Stockton Town Blues - League game
With a strong
wind blowing down the length of the pitch & a sticky
pitch it was always going to be tricky to get good
passing football going for 2 teams who normally
excel at it. Rangers played the first half into the
wind & struggled early on to hold on to possession
or threaten Blues goal. Blues managed several
attacks leading to shots that when on target were
comfortably handled by Will Spencer in goal.
Ellis Weir
managed to get a shot off on goal, but hit the
keeper & Aaron Reed's long throw created a couple of
scrambles in the box, but it went in at half time
0-0.
The first half had only just kicked off when Nathan
Warwick tackled in his own box & drove up-field &
played a through ball to Ellis Weir that was handled
by Blues defence in order to stop him going clean
through. Drew Charlton took the free kick from which
he hit a cracking shot that was heading for the
goal, Ellis Weir made sure by glancing it in off his
head a couple of yards out, 1--0 to Rangers.
Blues came
fighting back and playing some good football forced
a couple of great saves out of Will Spencer. Ranger
won another free kick just inside the Blues half,
Drew stepping up again to fire in another superb
shot that flew straight in the top corner from over
25 yards. Both sides created a couple more chances,
but Rangers comfortably saw the game out when they
were 2-0 up.
Another great
win for Rangers against one of the leagues best
sides & another clean sheet, with only 2 goal
conceded all season in the league.
7-0 win home
against Ferryhill Town- League game
The first 10 minutes were all Rangers with Ferryhill
struggling to get out of their half, but for all of
the pressure Rangers could not fashion any clear cut
chances and Ferryhill just about managed to scramble
away Rangers possession in & around the box. Aaron
Reed, who had a great all round game, used his long
throws to cause many problems in the Ferryhill box
with one cleared for a corner that fell for Al
Stevens who shot just over.
Rangers finally
got a break with Al Stevens scoring direct from a
corner which was curled in beautifully at the near
post, which the Ferryhill keeper could only push
into his side netting, 1-0 to Rangers.
Ferryhill
fought back as Rangers pushed forward and nearly
caught Rangers on the break, but Rangers keeper Will
Spencer rushed off his line & produced a fine save
to keep them out.
A couple of
minutes later Centre Back Nathan Warwick pushed out
of his own half with the ball and drove forward past
the Ferryhill forwards to the edge of their box and
shot low into the left hand corner of the Ferryhill
goal to make it 2-0.
Ferryhill caught Ranger on the break twice more, but
again Will Spencer bravely rushed out and produced
good saves.
The second half
started like the first with Rangers putting
Ferryhill under constant pressure, but all the
chances were either scrambled away or missed the
target.
Callum Spence's cool head & quick feet finally put
the game out of sight, (see picture) receiving a
corner on the edge of the box he controlled the ball
immediately, strode past his marker and slotted his
shot through a crowd of defenders into the corner to
put Rangers 3 up.
Ferryhill's
earlier heroics & determined defending now seemed to
evaporate and Callum capitalised, pinching the ball
off a defender in the box & tapping home to give
Ranger 4.
James Humphreys then scored a cracker, dribbling
forward at pace, (see picture) beating 2 defenders
to get just enough space to slot one home in the
corner.
Matthew
Humpreys then produced a great run down the left
wing & knocked in a great cross with Rangers
forwards charging in it caused panic in the
Ferryhill defence and a leg was stuck out to block
the cross, but ended up diverting it into their own
goal, but it was all down to the good work from
Matthew.
Finally Callum
made it 7-0 and got his hat trick with a brilliant
run from his own half, leaving at least 4 Ferryhill
players turned inside out from his quick feet and
calmly slotted past the keeper when one on one.
A good win &
another clean sheet, the 11th shut out in 13 league
games with only 2 goals conceded all season in the
league.
